Welcome to My Online Schooling Asia Pacific- A British Education

My Online Schooling Asia Pacific provides a full time British education for pupils around the world. The UK school was first established in 2016, and since then we have grown, providing pupils with a supportive and flexible education, wherever they are in the world.

In order to fully support our pupils in the Southern Hemisphere and Central and East Asia, we have established My Online Schooling Asia Pacific. In the global community we have a growing number of pupils who access their schooling from all around the world. Currently we have pupils in around 20 nations, from the USA to Japan and everywhere in between. Time zones can make this a challenge for some pupils in Central Asia, the Far East or Australia/New Zealand/The Pacific. In order to allow everyone to access their schooling in a normal school ‘daytime’, our Asia Pacific school caters for all our pupils who are based in this part of the world. This ensures we can support our pupils across different time zones.

Welcome to a New Way of Learning

The internet has opened up so many possibilities for teaching and learning in recent years. We live in a global community where boundaries of communication and knowledge have been broken down by the power of technology. In this changing world, we are constantly adapting to new ways of thinking, learning and doing.

Whilst advances in technology have paved the way for many new opportunities in education, traditional schooling will always remain an important stage in a child’s life. For some young people however, the traditional classroom doesn’t suit individual learning styles for a number of reasons. The option of learning from home from exceptional, experienced teachers, free from disruption, and at a time and pace that suits them can provide much better experiences and results.

Reasons for Online Schooling Your Child

In Australia, home education is on the rise.  Reasons including, religion, philosophical, special needs, bullying and dissatisfaction with traditional schooling, have meant that more than 19,000 students are now educated at home and the number is forecast to tip 50,000 in 10 years.

Whilst many children and young people relish the social aspect of being educated with large groups of their peers, many feel that the ever-rising class sizes in schools can inhibit their learning. At My Online Schooling Asia Pacific, class sizes are kept to a maximum of 20 students, allowing much more one-on-one contact with the teacher. Break-out rooms and the ‘hands up’ feature allow students to ask questions or clarify anything related to the lesson. Students are able to keep in constant communication with their teacher through voice, text or interactive presentation.

In today’s global village, many families make the choice to relocate overseas. For these families, online schooling allows their child to continue to access the British education enabling them to take take British examinations or simply to fit back in to the British education system, if and when they return to the UK.

Families from other countries may simply prefer their child to be educated under the excellent British education system.

My Online Schooling Asia Pacific runs the full Primary and Secondary English National Curriculum with broad curriculum choices taught by excellent, experienced teachers.

Affordable Education

The cost of private school fees in Australia is now on average between $23,000 and $40,000 per year. My Online Schooling Asia Pacific is a very cost-effective means of private education with fees from as low as $3,800 AUD per year.

Bullying and Disruption in Traditional Schools

Unfortunately, bullying in schools is on the rise, with studies reporting that one in four students aged between 8 and 14 years are being bullied every few weeks or more, with the highest rates being reported by children aged between 10 and 11 years of age. Schools around Australia are doing a wonderful job to alleviate this issue with positive behaviour or anti-bullying policies, however the option of online schooling for some students allows them to fully engage in their learning, without the fear of any outside influences or the disruptions.

Improved Examination Results

Online school pupils are able to sit exams by applying as external or private candidates to local schools. Examination results have been very pleasing in many online schools, with many US schools reporting that examination results are above the national averages. This can in part be attributed to the distraction-free learning environment, small class sizes, one-on-one support and the flexibility of learning at a time and place that is comfortable to the student.

An Equitable Education for All

Many education systems are losing equity, this is partly due to  income inequality.  Equity is often defined as how much children’s learning in school is determined by their family background. More equitable education systems are those that are able to weaken this association of socio- economic situation and learning achievement in school. At My Online Schooling we strive to weaken this association by providing an affordable, flexible and inclusive education. Online Schooling is a fresh approach to education and it allows us to offer schooling at an affordable price without compromising the quality.

Bridging the Education Gap in Remote and Rural Areas

In Australia it is reported that some of the most remote and rural regions are being left behind when it comes to education, with a staggering divide between educational access, performance and outcomes. This can be said for many other countries around the world.

The interaction between Indigeneity, low socioeconomic status and attending school in a remote or very remote location is particularly strong in Australia. Not only do these groups of students on average show lower performance through schooling, but this gap gets larger into high school. It is reported that In both mathematics and literacy, students in remote areas in Australia on average are performing 2 years behind metropolitan students.

The “education gap” refers to the large difference between the highest and lowest performing students due to external areas of disadvantage that the child has no control over. Every country has a gap, yet some have larger performance gaps than others.

At My Online Schooling Asia Pacific, we are bridging the educational gap by offering an accessible and high quality online schooling for pupils living in remote and rural areas, ensuring that they have the same opportunities to learn as those pupils living in metropolitan areas.

Our School’s Aim

My Online Schooling aims to provide the best education for your son or daughter, whatever their needs. Just like a traditional school, there is face-to-face contact with the teacher, homework is set, school reports are sent home and work is reviewed and marked by teachers. All teachers are highly qualified and have been through stringent police checks. Due to the reduction in classroom disruptions, moving between classes and class control, there is much more time in the day for individual study, sports or recreation time for your child.
