Terms & Conditions
This agreement stipulates the terms and conditions, governed by the law of England and Wales, upon which a place has been offered to your child. Once you have accepted a place for your child you are agreeing to be legally bound by these terms and conditions. In this document, guardians will also be encompassed under the term ‘parents’.
We ask that you read the terms and conditions carefully before submitting your enrolment application to us.
The agreement will remain in force until the pupil concludes their education with My Online Schooling or is either voluntarily withdrawn by parents or excluded by way of authority granted by these terms and conditions.
3. Authority of the Head Teacher
Parents authorise the Head Teacher of My Online Schooling, or their nominated deputy, to take such action as the Head Teacher may consider being in the best interests of the pupil on a day to day basis.
4. Provision of Education
My Online Schooling shall endeavour to do all that is reasonable to provide a suitable educational environment for every pupil. My Online Schooling cannot guarantee that the pupil will achieve his or her desired examination results or that results will be sufficient to gain entry to other educational establishments.
There is a non-refundable £120 enrolment fee that must be paid before students get access to the school.
Tuition fees shall be paid in advance either monthly (UK/AU bank accounts only) or termly (non-UK/AU bank accounts) and are due at the start of term/first day of the month unless otherwise agreed with you.
Tuition fees for the first month/term of enrolment will be pro-rated on a daily basis until the beginning of the next month/term.
All fees and other expenses payable are set out on the My Online Schooling website.
My Online Schooling will seek to keep fees stable but reserve the right to increase fees at any time with at least 30 days prior notice. Liability to pay fees and any other additional expenses is joint and several.
Fees of a pupil which have not been paid in full or agreed through a payment plan before the start of term may be excluded until the necessary amount is paid. Parents are liable to pay all costs, fees, disbursements and charges including legal fees and costs reasonably incurred by My Online Schooling in relation to the recovery of any unpaid fees irrespective of value of the claim.
No refunds will be given for minor disruptions to the provision of lessons. However, please note that you may have a right to a refund for more significant disruptions under The Consumer Rights Act 2015.
6. Notice Period
Pupils may be withdrawn from Online Schooling by giving notice to leave via email to the Head Teacher. We do not operate a contract however 28 days notice is required to leave and all fees must be paid up until the agreed leaving date. There will be no rebate for fees paid before withdrawing a student.
We understand the importance of pupil privacy and it is entrusted that any publication, including photographs, videos and other posts by My Online Schooling on our website or on social media will be in the best interests of pupils and require parental consent.
8. Internet Security
My Online Schooling will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your child uses the facilities of the school platform for appropriate purposes, but your child will be held accountable for any misuse. Deliberate misuse will be treated as a breach of My Online Schooling rules.
Pupils will use YouTube and other resources from the internet as part of their lessons. The school will never direct anyone to anything that is not educational. It is the parents’ responsibility to ensure that they have appropriate content controls and internet security software to protect their child from inappropriate online content.
We cannot always guarantee that pupils in non-UK countries will be able to access UK content online.
9. Usernames and Passwords
Pupils shall not share links or logins with other pupils. If pupils wish to find each other outside our system, they will have to go through the office and the other pupil’s parents.
10. Study Environment
Parents are responsible for ensuring their child has access to an appropriate location from which to study. My Online Schooling is not responsible for the home (or any other) study environment.
Parents are responsible for ensuring that their child attends lessons. Parents must also ensure that their child has access to the internet and the correct technology to take part in lessons. The computer and software requirements are set out in the School Handbook which can be found on the My Online Schooling website. Refunds will not be given for poor internet connection or if there are issues with the device that the pupil is using.
If students are unable to attend a lesson because of an individual issue then they are expected to watch the lesson recording.
Parents are responsible for ensuring the legality of home-schooling in their country.
11. Cancellation of Lessons
Lessons that are cancelled due the fault of the school (e.g. teacher connection, system break down, staff illness) will be made up before the end of the school year.
The Head Teacher has authority to deal with all disciplinary matters arising and to delegate disciplinary powers amongst the staff as appropriate. Parents and pupils accept such authority of the Head Teacher unconditionally.
Parents and pupils are responsible for adhering to the school’s Behaviour Policy, which is available on the My Online Schooling website. Every pupil must also sign up to the Student Behaviour Contract.
The Head Teacher reserves the right to exclude pupils as a result of the poor behaviour of the pupil or inappropriate or abusive behaviour of the parent.
13 Data Protection
The school will use the information you provide to us relating to you and your child, together with other information, for administrative monitoring, accounting, planning and control of the curriculum and examinations, publication of examination results, provision of references, analysis for education and management purposes and other purposes necessary for the good management of the school and the welfare of its staff and pupils. We may disclose some or all of this information to service providers and agents for these purposes.
You agree and consent to our processing of the information and you and your child provide to us for the purposes outlined above which shall include, where necessary, the processing of sensitive data which is that relating to your child’s health, their religious denomination and ethnic or racial origin.
My Online Schooling has a policy of recording all academic lessons. This policy is believed to be in the best interest of all pupils and teachers as well as parents. All lesson recordings remain securely on our software provider’s servers. Recordings will only be shown to pupils who were enrolled in a course at the time of a lesson, or My Online Schooling staff.
Parents give My Online Schooling permission to contact any exam centres where a pupil has sat exams and request the exam results be released to My Online Schooling.
14. Changing Enrolment
The subjects that a pupil is studying can be changed at any time.
If the pupil wishes to change to a subject of the same price, the change will be processed within one week of the school receiving the request.
Subjects can also be dropped within a week, however the cost will depend on where the student is in their billing cycle. If fees are paid monthly, then the invoice will be amended from the following month. If fees are paid termly, the next invoice will be amended accordingly. There will be no rebate for fees paid for dropped subjects.
15. ‘Cooling Off’ Period
If you are an EU resident, you are entitled to withdraw your acceptance of these terms and conditions and enrolment of your child within 14 days of acceptance of a place.
